Aspire zone qatar doha guide

Aspire Zone was established as an international sports destination in 2003 and is home to state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure for sports and training.

Also known as Doha Sports City, the area covers 2.5 square kilometers and is an award-winning sport and healthy lifestyle destination that also features commercial and recreational venues like a shopping mall, museum, park, and more!

Khalifa International Stadium

The Khalifa International Stadium is a multipurpose stadium with a running track and a grass pitch. It originally opened in 1976 and was named after the Amir of Qatar during the time, Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Abdullah bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani.

It has seen many prestigious sporting events, such as the Doha Asian Games 2006. Khalifa International Stadium was also part of the 8 venues during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.

3-2-1 Qatar Olympic & Sports Museum

One of the newest attractions at Aspire Zone to check out is the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic & Sport Museum. Visitors can learn the history of sports throughout different cultures, browse through Olympic memorabilia, get to know the most influential athletes in the world, learn about Qatar’s journey as a sporting nation, and even participate in fun interactive activities!

The museum is also home to restaurants, cafes, and a gift shop!

The Torch Doha

The Torch Doha is one of the most iconic structures in Qatar. It is a torch-shaped skyscraper and is currently the tallest building in the country. During the 2006 Doha Asian Games, the Torch Tower even had a flame at its peak.

It has since been transformed into a luxury 5-star hotel with dining outlets such as the popular Three Sixty Doha, a revolving restaurant offering diners a 360 view of Doha.

Aspire Fire Tower

The Aspire Fire Tower, located near The Torch Doha and Khalifa International Stadium, is an incredible structure that once held a dazzling flame during the 2006 Doha Asian Games and featured circular rings that would rotate around the fire. It still stands today as a beautiful reminder of the historic sporting event.

If you’re looking for a fun day out, Aspire Park is a must-visit. It is one of Doha’s biggest parks at 88 hectares and offers lush greenery, a huge pond, beautiful fountains, a playground for children, running tracks, and a variety of restaurants and cafes. It’s a popular spot for picnics and enjoying the outdoors.

Hamad Aquatic Center

Are you a swimmer? If yes, you need to check out the Hamad Aquatic Center!

It’s a three-story building with facilities for swimming and diving. It has two diving and two Olympic-size pools. It has been the venue for numerous swimming-related sports events, including the FINA Swimming World Cup.

They offer day passes for use of their facilities as well.

    • Sunday to Thursday from 8 am – 9 pm
    • Fridays from 1 pm – 9 pm
    • Saturdays from 9 am – 9 pm

Aspire Dome

The Aspire Dome is highly regarded as the world’s largest indoor multipurpose sports dome, with facilities that can simultaneously accommodate up to 13 sporting activities. It has a FIFA-approved indoor football pitch, a World Athletics-accredited indoor track, Olympic-sized swimming and diving pools, a volleyball hall, squash courts, table tennis halls, and more!

The Aspire Active Men club is also located here, offering fitness facilities and programs.
