Surrounding the beach is a barbed wire fence and a one-sided wall to ensure complete closure.

Upon entering the main gate, you will find a brick walkway that will make getting across the vast beach space easy, rather than struggling to stomp through the soft sand.

Permanently available private chalets

There are permanently placed chalets to ensure shade and further privacy within the beach. These are equipped with solar-powered lights, and there are lamp posts just outside as well.

Each chalet has benches, a wooden table, and a designated garbage bin, ensuring everything is within reach.

Aside from the chalets, you will also find more benches and tables across the beach, along with other mini-tables made of tyres.

The beach has porto-cabin toilets that are easily accessible via the brick walkway. Make sure to carry sanitary wipes and other necessary items for toilet usage.

This beach as a whole is breathtakingly beautiful and serene, but a spot you should check out is the corner near the wall that borders the beach.

Shallow lagoon waters that wave against the rock formations and brick remnants make for a great spot to sit by, click a photo, or even just bask in the beauty of this beach.

If you get lucky enough, you may get a chance to spot seagulls strolling along!

What should you carry with you?

While carrying your picnic tables and chairs won’t be required; you should ideally take your handwash soap and toilet paper as these weren’t available in the toilets at the time of our visit.

Ensure to take other necessities like snacks, water and barbecue essentials like charcoal without anything amiss as there are no shops or groceries nearby.

Beach regulations:

  • The beach allows only women and children under the age of 10.
  • Vehicles are not permitted within the fencing and must be parked outside.
  • Waste must be disposed of in designated areas. Please do not litter. Let's keep Qatar clean.
  • Barbecue is only allowed in designated areas.
  • The beach is free of cost, and no entrance charges are applicable.
  • No pets allowed at the beach

How to get there

Please note that the following details are given keeping in mind the Doha to Al Shamal direction using the Al Shamal highway.

  • The journey from Doha to Al Mamlaha Ladies Beach is approximately a drive that lasts an hour and 30 minutes.
  • The drive is straightforward; continue on the highway until you reach the Al Ghariya exit. After this point, you will see signages with the beach name along the way.
  • Once you exit the highway, you will need to continue driving to reach the first roundabout; from here you need to take a left.

  • Continue on the straight road bordered by trees on either side. At this point, you should be able to spot an old abandoned fort to your right.
  • As you go along this road, you will reach another roundabout from where you need to head straight till you reach a right turn which indicates the beach's name.

  • You will finally reach a point where you will have to off-road for approximately 5 minutes before you spot the beach. A landmark to look for is a restricted military base which is mostly your off-road starting point (this area is prohibited for pictures).
  • The offroad isn’t overly rocky; therefore, sedans can be used to access the beach as well - ensure to keep note of your path to not stray off to softer sands when driving in the dark

  • Finally, you will spot a mosque at a junction; at this point, you should turn left and drive a short distance to reach the beach. The mosque is fully functional with a ladies' washing and prayer space.
