Located in a quiet residential area in the Al Rayyan Municipality, Al Waab Family Park is an oasis of calm and happiness for the local neighborhood, but of course, all families are welcome to visit this lovely and well-maintained park.
Al Waab Family Park is a small recreational garden that offers a whole lot of fun and relaxation, and here are the things you will see and enjoy for free when you visit it.
Note:
The park has two entrance gates, but currently, only the main entrance gate is being used. Near the gate and surrounding the park are car parking spaces.
Upon entrance, you will be greeted by a water fountain which is the centerpiece of the park. The sight and sound of the water add to the tranquility of the place.
Right behind the fountain is a wide and well-shaded playground. Kids will definitely have a great time in this colorful area that has a variety of slides, climbing paths, swings, see-saws, and more.
The flooring of the playground is specially designed for kids as it is made from tiny rubber granules that are stuck together making it slip-resistant.
At the far right corner of the park is a fenced football field that is open to every member of a family who loves the sport!
It’s free to use the football ground inside Al Waab Family Park. Just bring your soccer ball and enjoy!
Upon entrance, you will also see on the left side an open gazebo and benches. Most parents and guardians stay here to look after their older children in the play area. There are a couple more benches placed within the park.
Check out the healthy and towering trees inside the park that are labeled with their botanical names.
One of the perennial trees inside the Al Waab Family Park is the Sidra Tree (Ziziphus Spina-Christi). During the colder months, this tree bears lots of fruits that fall off and you will see them on the ground. The small rounded fruit is red-orange in color when ripe and is actually sweet and delicious.
Seasonal plants and beds of flowers add beauty to the park. You can walk around the garden and enjoy the relaxing feeling these lovely flowers bring just by looking at them!
There are green corner spaces inside the park where a family picnic is allowed during colder months. Bring a small table, chairs, mat, and ready-to-eat food as barbeque, grilling, and cooking are not allowed inside the park.
The picnic areas are very clean so make sure to carry with you all the trash when you leave or put it in bins that are available inside the park.
Day and night, visitors are welcome to use the walking and jogging track that goes around the park. It’s always great to add a few minutes of walking or jogging to your daily routine.
