Looking at the Blue Plate Number, have you ever wondered how many zones there are in Qatar? Aside from the 8 municipalities, Qatar is divided into 98 zones with most of the zones found in the Doha Municipality.

The Zoning Regulations have been set in place by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment to efficiently manage urban processes in Qatar so as to implement the Municipal Spatial Development Plans (MSDP). You can find out more about the planning zones here.

Aside from the Blue Plate Number, you can also check your zone number using the "My Address" service of the Ministry of Interior wherein you can "inquire about your residence place, building, and area using six different options such as street name, electricity number, zone name, neighborhood name, coordinates, and building number."
