Potholes are a public nuisance and, in some cases are hazardous and can cause heavy damage to vehicles driving on them at high speeds. We might come across potholes on public roads on a daily basis. And, if you're wondering where to raise a complaint to get them fixed in the State of Qatar, we have the answers for you here.

In Qatar, The Public Works Authority 'Ashghal', is responsible for the planning, design, procurement, construction, delivery, and asset management of all infrastructure projects and public buildings. Ashghal’s key duties include governing the design, construction, and management of major projects including roads, drainage and buildings such as public buildings, schools and hospitals.

Who can register a complaint with Ashghal?

  • Individuals, companies and government entities can register their complaint with the Customer Service of the Ashghal with information in the form of notifications from a customer, a group of customers or a community as a trigger to take the required corrective action.

What can the notification be raised for?

  • The notification can be related to a hazard on the road that may result in a traffic accident or cause injury to others (in this case, it is regarding potholes or broken asphalt on the roads).
  • It can also be regarding bad practice by an Ashghal employee or contractors, among other reasons.

How can you register to submit a notification?

  • STEP 1: Register your account on the Ashghal Customer Zone Portal and login to submit a notification.

  • STEP 2: Fill in the online form, entering all the required information.

  • STEP 3: Attach any supporting documents, then click on “Submit”.

  • There are NO fees for this service.

Additional Information:

  • This service is available online around the clock.
  • Depending on the severity of the situation, Ashghal will proceed to classify it as an emergency or maintenance, after a thorough inspection.
