Before the kayaking adventure begins, tour operators provide an introductory session on kayaking fundamentals, equipment, and safety instructions. A tour guide or lifeguard is also assigned.
Although it helps to know how to swim, you don’t have to be a swimmer if you want to try kayaking. You just have to make sure you’re wearing a life jacket and that you don’t isolate yourself from your group or the lifeguard.
Do not litter.

Before you head for kayaking, make sure you have the following:

Rashguard or other comfortable clothes. Please check with your respective tour operator for the dress code.
Crocs-like shoes or sandals that can get wet. It will also protect your feet, as certain places can be rocky.
A towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat or cap, waterproof case for your gadgets.
Refillable water bottle. Please avoid the use of plastic water bottles.
Extra clothes to wear after the activity.

Kayaking places in Qatar

Al Thakira Mangroves Forest

Located just North of the seaside city of Al Khor, Al Thakira Mangroves is one of the favourite kayaking spots as people get to explore a large expanse of natural greenery. The place is home to the mangrove swamps and a number of migratory birds like the flamingos and herons.

Purple Island

Contrary to its name, Purple Island in Al Khor is mostly green as it's abundant in healthy mangroves and surrounded by clear, green waters (due to the reflection of mangroves). Mangroves are a sanctuary for birds, fishes, crabs, and shrimp, which are just a few of the things that you might encounter when exploring the place.

What could be better than kayaking and enjoying the sight of the stunning Doha skyline at the same time? It's only possible when you try different water activities at The Pearl Island. Here, you can enjoy kayaking with the chance of spotting a variety of fish and other marine life.
