On arrival visas for babies born outside qatar

Some expatriates (expats) in Qatar prefer to give birth in their home countries.

On-arrival visas for newborn babies born outside Qatar are available. These visas come with terms and conditions applied.

Requirements:

  1. The father and mother should have a valid residence permit in Qatar.
  2. The mother must be under the sponsorship of the father.
  3. The baby's age should be within 6 months from the date of birth.
  4. The original birth certificate and valid passport of the child are required.
  5. The visa would be provided for newborns and their parents upon arrival.

Note: The mother and father of the baby must not have spent more than 6 months outside of Qatar, as this will require a return permit.

Fees and fines

The visa is free of charge. The fine for overstay is QR 10 per day after the expiration of the specified period.

Baby's residence permit

The visa on arrival provided is a temporary visa. The validity will be determined by the immigration department at the airport and will typically be around 2 months.

Once the baby has arrived in Qatar, the father (sponsor) should apply for the baby's residency permit through the Metrash2 application or the Ministry of Interior website.
