AKIS caters primarily to the children of Qatargas employees. The co-educational and non-selective school is located in Al Khor Community and has over 4,000 students across 5 buildings. AKIS offers the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) of India curriculum to children from 3 to 18 years of age.

Founded in 2004 in Qatar, BPS is the fulfillment of Mr. Basant Kumar Birla & Dr. (Mrs.) Sarala Birla's wish to serve Indians abroad.
