Each and every expat who is issued a Residence Permit in Qatar is also given a Qatar ID Card or QID as part of the application process. Your QID is probably the most important card/document you can hold in Qatar. If you happen to lose, misplace or damage it, it can be replaced with a few simple steps. In case you are under your company sponsorship, your HR or PRO can get it replaced for you. Here are all the details of the online and offline procedure.

Apply through the Metrash2 App

The request for the issuance of a lost or damaged residence permit can be done through the Metrash2 App too and these are the steps.

Instructions

  • Login to Metrash2 App on your phone.
  • Click on the “Residency” icon.

  • Click on “Replace damaged/lost ID” icon.

  • Next, choose your service type – lost or damaged, enter your QID number and click next.

  • Click “Next” to send the application request.
  • Please note that an amount of 20 Riyals will be added for QPost delivery method. You can also choose to collect it from the nearest Service Centre.
  • Pay an amount of QR 200, excluding QPost delivery fees via credit or debit card and click on next.
  • You can collect it or get it delivered to you once ready.

Apply Online

Applying online takes a few simple steps through the e-services portal and the instructions are as follows.

Instructions

  • You can log in with your smartcard to the e-services portal of MOI.
  • Next, click on “Residence Services” as seen below.

  • The next step involves clicking on “Replacement for lost/damaged residence permit”, then choose the service type “Replace Lost or Replace Damaged“ depending upon your request.

  • Enter the details of the person (expat) who wants to issue a Residence Permit/QID card. This can be either for themselves or for one of the family members, in addition to the mobile number.
  • You can select the delivery option to personally collect from the Expatriates Affairs Department, or by courier via Qatar Postal Services Company.
  • If you are selecting the mail courier delivery option, the address should be entered, and its information validity checkbox should be ticked.
  • The next step is to pay the fees and to save the receipt.

Additional Information

  • Applicants must be inside the country while applying for the card.
  • If you need to replace a lost QID card, you must submit an “Implicit” security notification for the lost card.

Fees

  • The fees for this service is QR 200, in addition to QR20 mail courier delivery fees (if applicable).

Apply Offline

For the issuance of your QID offline, there are a few things to keep in mind. The payment for the new QID needs to be done only via credit or debit card. Cash payments are not allowed. And the second point to be noted is that there is no need for filing a police complaint about lost or damaged QID. This is the same procedure for issuance of the QIDs of the people under your sponsorship, in case they have lost it too.

Instructions

  • Go to Al Gharafa immigration office (Location: https://goo.gl/maps/tGXkVj3JHnCd5N7ZA) in person. Please note that they only process lost ID during the morning working hours – between 6:30 am – 12:00 pm.
  • At reception get the token for the lost ID category
  • Go to the counter, show your passport, damaged QID (if available) and submit one passport size photo
  • Pay QAR 200 via credit or debit card only.
  • Within a few minutes, you will get your QID card reissued.
