The Housing Department at the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs (ADLSA), in collaboration with Qatar Development Bank (QDB), provides eligible citizens with the necessary facilities to purchase or build houses, including different loans, in order to ensure the right of every citizen to suitable housing.

Types of Loans

The types of loans, their values and means of payment different according the purpose of each, and QDB offers four types of loans:

House Installation Loan

A loan of up to QR1.2 million, granted to eligible citizens by virtue of the regulations of the Housing Department at ADLSA.

Home Purchase Funding

A loan of up to QR1.2 million, granted to eligible citizens by virtue of the regulations of the Housing Department at ADLSA.

Prefabricated Housing Grant

A grant of up to QR1 million allocated by the government allocated to eligible citizens for the purpose of the demolition and reconstruction of some installed houses, and it is disbursed to the property owner himself upon the phases of completion until the house is built, without any administrative fees incurred.

Demolition and Reconstruction Funding

A loan of up to QR 1.2 million granted to a Qatari national, as per the regulations of the Housing Department at ADLSA, for the purpose of demolishing and rebuilding the current residence. The property does not necessarily have to be subject to Land Management. There are also no administrative fees incurred.

How to Apply for a Loan

Before starting the procedures of the loan you wish to obtain, you have to submit your request first to the Housing Department at ADLSA, which, in turn, refers your request to QDB to complete the necessary steps, then you shall receive an SMS.

Housing Law

Housing loans are subject to the provisions and regulations defined by Law No.2 of 2007 on the Housing System, so as to arrange how beneficiaries receive such loans. Among the required terms for any beneficiary are holding the Qatari nationality and being 22 years old or above. In addition, the land, house or residential unit in use may not be disbursed until after at least 15 years or submitting an appropriate guarantee approved by the Bank.
