The fireworks display on the Corniche is definitely one of the highlights of every year's Qatar National Day celebrations. Residents of Qatar congregate along the Corniche Promenade gaze up as the sky fills up with sounds as the fireworks shoot up in the air in a dazzling display of lights in different colors and formation. It's exciting, thrilling, and an awaited event.

The length of the Corniche Promenade gets crowded every QND for the host of activities every December 18. From the parade to the air shows, and the fireworks, it is the place to be if you want to be near the action.
According to the company doing this year's fireworks, Swiss Events, the best spot to watch the fireworks is at the top seat of the public grandstand. Unlike being near the waterfront, you won't have as much of a crick in the neck after the show is finished. The public grandstand gets full fast so if you want a good seat, better get there early.

- West Mound Skyline Viewpoint
Although still situated along the Corniche, Museum of Islamic Art sits on its own island and provides a good view of the fireworks display as well.
Popular spots include MIA Park, the East mound skyline, the 7 Sculpture by Richard Serra, MIA Park Cafe, and June Cafe.
The museum also serves as a good backdrop if you are taking photos from the other side of the Corniche.
Hotels along the Corniche Promenade or those with high floors have QND offers to give guests a different view of the city during the fireworks and air show on QND.
