Guide to Qatar's Ministry mobile apps and e-services

Mobile applications and e-services of Qatar's Ministries has been around for quite a long time thanks to Qatar's e-Government strategy. They make transactions more convenient, saving time and effort while completing the transactions remotely using the internet. But due to COVID-19, more people have been using it and started using it because government offices were closed. Now that the government offices are open again, the Ministries are still encouraging citizens and residents to use the e-services as much as possible (website and mobile application) to reduce crowding in the service centers.

Ministry of Interior

Perhaps one of the most used Ministry mobile application in Qatar is the Ministry of Interior's Metrash2 app. The app enables Qatari nationals and residents to apply for and obtain more than 100 services that save their time, effort, and money while enjoying the convenience of using their smartphones. Ministry of Administrative Development Labor & Social Affairs

The AMERNI application allows users to access Individual and Corporate Services provided by the Ministry of Administrative Development Labor & Social Affairs.

Individual services include the following categories: Employment, Labor and business, Housing and Social, and Nurseries.

Corporate services include the following categories: Recruitment, Notification and complaints, Establishment Data

Ministry of Transport and Communications

E-services on its website include various services for small crafts, big vessels, land transport, and shared services & applications.

The MOTC official app available on both the iOS and Android provides general information and news about the ministry and quick access to its e-services, locations, and contact information. The key features of the application are:

  1. Access to maritime sector services for vessel owner’s which allows owners to quickly browse their small crafts and big vessels and perform some services on it.
  2. Access to ministry news and events.
  3. Access to ministry tenders.

Ministry of Commerce and Industry

Through the MOCI website, users can have access to a wide range of Investor and Supply services as well as new establishment applications & Trade names services. Its mobile application is available in both Android and iOS

According to the MOCIQatar App page, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Qatar provides users of its mobile application with unique, smart electronic services meant to facilitate and streamline procedures and transactions to ensure prompt delivery as well as improve the level of services provided to investors, businessmen and other members of the public. The mobile application provides users with several vital services such as renewing and issuing commercial permits and registrations, follow-up transactions, searching for a commercial name or commercial activity, reporting complaints, and the completion of procedures necessary to obtain provisions services. Users can also access various reports and economic indicators as well as up-to-date news and latest developments on the Ministry from across the local, regional, and international arena.

Ministry of Culture and Sports

MCS's e-services include the following:

Its online services can also be accessed through the Ministry of Culture and Sports mobile application available on both Android and iOS.

MME's mobile application, OUN, allows access to the Ministry's various services which includes:

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education offers the education community a broad range of state-of-the-art services online. These electronic services are designed to meet the needs of the community, facilitating the search for information, applications, and online submissions wherever possible.

Ministry of Justice

The Ministry of Justice has two apps available for download:

  • SAK Application
  • Al-mothamin Application

According to the MOJ website, the SAK application is considered as one of the access channels to the Services of real estate registration and documentation in the Ministry of Justice, in which various services delivered to a wide range of beneficiaries (Individuals, Businesses, Investors, Government bodies).

While the Al-mothamin application is a free application that assists those who want to buy or sell real estate to know the approximate prices of real estate. It also allows the valuation process based on Real Estate number owned by the user; in case he/she desires to get an approximate value of his/her real estate.

Ministry of Finance

Its e-services found on its the Ministry of Finance website are: Payment Inquiry and Government Procurement Services.

Payment Inquiry is to see information regarding payment status and requires QID or CRN and Payment Reference Number. Government Procurement Services provides access to government tenders in Qatar and offers a classification of companies according to their classification.

HUKOOMI

Hukoomi, Qatar's Official e-Government Portal, was launched in 2003 through an Amiri decree instructing all government entities to cooperate with the e-Government. As stated on its website, Hukoomi's goal is to make government information and services more efficient and effective in order to be accessible to all citizens, residents, visitors, and businesses. It also aims at raising awareness on the public programs, events, news, and government initiatives, in line with the objectives defined by the Qatar e-Government 2020 Strategy.
