Ashghal, Qatar's Public Works Authority, has launched an online service through which you can receive SMS or e-mail alerts that will tell you which roads are closed or diverted. Isn't that neat!

All you need to do is register to the Ashghal's online service and start getting the alerts, so you know just what to expect when you're on the road.

How to register and receive online alerts on road closures and diversions

• Fill out the online form and enter all the required information.
• Click on “Create Account”.

Additional information

• If you have ticked 'Yes' to the 'Get SMS updates on Road Announcements' section of the online form, added your registered mobile number, and clicked on the 'Send Verification Code', you will receive a verification code on your registered mobile phone.

• Once you have the verification code, put it in the 'SMS Validation Code', and you're all set to receive SMS alerts on closed or diverted roads.
  
• This service is only available in Qatar.
