Road to Awareness (RTA) is an alliance Starwood Hotels and Resorts EAME formed with UNICEF over 15 years ago. UNICEF is a global organization that provides healthcare, nutrition and education for the worlds most vulnerable children. It aims to protect their rights as well as help children who are exposed to conflict, natural disaster and HIV.
Unfortunately, UNICEF receives no monetary funding from the UN budget and relies entirely on voluntary donations. Your participation at any one of our Sheraton Doha events ‘Matters’ with each Dirham raised making a difference to a child’s life.

As of 2012, Starwood has worked with UNICEF to ensure every child around the world has access to quality Education. Your participation and donation will go towards interventions such as building and improving schools, training teachers, supplying school equipment and campaigning to ensure children stay in school. Without it, a child’s development and lifetime of opportunities will be unobtainable. With it, a child will be given the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty and see a future full of opportunity.

The Sheraton Hotel Doha is proud to be a part of this alliance, organizing events to raise funds for Road To Awareness for almost 5 years; with the proposed calendar of events growing each year.

The Zumba Fitness Doha Qatar Team is excited to join hands with Sheraton Doha, Starwood and UNICEF to support Road To Awareness. We believe in the cause, we believe that every child has the potential to become someone when they grow up, given the right opportunity to education. Together, we can make a difference. In our previous years, through one simple fun filled masterclass we were able to raise the first year, Qrs. 9,000, the second Qrs 12,000 and the third year Qrs 20,000 for Road to Awareness. We are hoping this year to exceed these funds with your help and contributions and give more children an opportunity to learn.
