The Qatar Football Association (QFA) on Wednesday announced that it has decided to hold all remaining football matches of the Amir Cup, QNB Stars League, Second Division League and Qatargas League for the 2019-2020 season without the presence of fans in the stadiums starting Thursday 12 March 2020 until further notice.
This decision comes within the framework of the efforts and measures taken by the state to limit the spread the coronavirus (Covid-19), in order to ensure the safety of the fans in the stadiums hosting the matches.

The Second Division League is the second tier competition in Qatari football. The competition was first introduced in the 1996/1997 season.
Contested in a triple round-robin format; five teams partake in the 15-week long league, the competition winners win automatic promotion to the QNB-Qatar Stars League, while the runners-up take on the team that finished eleventh in the QNB-Qatar Stars League in a play-off match.
