Al Khor face Al Duhail in Week 1 of the 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League. The kick-off is at 18:05 at the Al Khor Stadium on Sunday, 12th September, 2021.

Al Khor finished 11th in the 2020-2021 season QNB Stars League, above relegated side Al Kharaitiyat, and they had to defeat Al Shahania 3-1 in the Play-Off to retain their place in this season’s QNB Stars League.

The Play-Off pits the 11th-placed team in the QNB Stars League against runners-up in the Second Division.

Al Khor’s task will not be easy in the new season, as they will be required to provide the best to avoid relegation threat again after playing the Play-Off match in the last two seasons. The Knights have retained the services of German coach Winfried Schafer.

Meanwhile, Al Duhail seek to compensate for losing out on the title last season, where they finished behind Al Sadd.

The Red Knights know better that there is no substitute to titles in order to satisfy their fans, especially with the many changes they underwent ahead of the new season.

Al Duhail have replaced Frenchman Sabri Lamouchi with Portuguese coach Luis Castro, who has previously trained teams such as Ukraine’s Shakhtar Donetsk, and made big changes on the front of foreign professionals.

Al Khor have players, such as Moroccan Ismail Haddad, Greek Giannis Fetfatzidid, Brazilian Rafael Vaz and South Korean Koo Ja-Cheol, while Al Duhail have the likes of Nam Tae-Hee, Tunisian Ferjani Sassi and Belgian defender Toby Alderweireld besides Mohammed Alaaeldin, who recently joined them from Al Rayyan.
