The Qatar Football Association (QFA) on Wednesday announced that it has decided to hold all remaining football matches of the Amir Cup, QNB Stars League, Second Division League and Qatargas League for the 2019-2020 season without the presence of fans in the stadiums starting Thursday 12 March 2020 until further notice.
This decision comes within the framework of the efforts and measures taken by the state to limit the spread the coronavirus (Covid-19), in order to ensure the safety of the fans in the stadiums hosting the matches.

The QNB-Qatar Stars League is the highest professional league in Qatari football. The league’s first season was played in 1963, although the first official season occurred in 1972. The league currently features 12 clubs, the top four clubs at the end of the regular league system participate in the Qatar Cup, which was formed in the 1994/95 season. Al Sadd hold the record for most championship wins, with 14 titles.
