Sports fans who are going through withdrawal as handball winds down and following the end of the men’s tennis and golf tournaments this month can take heart – Qatar will host yet another group of star athletes in February.
A number of top-seeded tennis players are expected to compete in this year’s Qatar Total Open, which will be held from Feb. 23 to 28 at the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex.
That includes defending champion Simona Halep from Romania, who put on a fierce performance to clinch her first title in Doha last year.
Other top players who have confirmed participation in the tournament are World No. 4 and two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova; World No. 6 Agnieszka Radwanska from Poland; World No. 8 Caroline Wozniacki from Denmark and World No. 9 and runner-up of the finals last year Angelique Kerber, as well as World No. 10 Ektaerina Makarova.
Tickets are now available for purchase online here and at City Center, Landmark, Lagoona and Villaggio malls, as well as onsite at the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex.
