A cricket carnival, which will also double as a family event, is to be held tomorrow at the Qatar Petroleum grounds at Mesaieed.
Six junior teams, including two from the UAE, are participating in the ‘GWC-Stallions Cricket Carnival 2013,’ taking place from 8am to 7pm.
The participating teams are in two categories of under 13, under 15. The local teams comprise of students from various schools and academies in Qatar. The teams from the UAE represent the country’s leading and largest cricket academy. Each age group consists of three teams.
Some of the activities lined up for the day are the parents’ cricket match, team building exercises, games for kids, a cricket match for junior boys aged between 4- 8. The Stallion Cricket Academy, organisers of the event, plans to make it an annual event with the aim of promoting the game in Qatar by providing exposure to the children by playing against visiting sides.
