One of the most highly anticipated sports events of the year, the FINA Swimming World Cup returns to Doha this year and with tickets now on sale, the countdown is well and truly on. This year’s FINA Swimming World Cup is already proving to be a must-see event with more than 44 countries and 320 swimmers having registered their interest to compete in Doha – more than ever at a World Cup event in Doha.

Hamad Aquatic Centre will come alive once again from September 13-14-15 as the world’s fastest and most competitive swimmers take to the water to battle for World Cup glory. As a qualifying event for the 18th FINA World Championships 2019 in Gwangju and the 14th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) 2018 in Hangzhou , fans can expect even more explosive action in the pool next Septemberfrom World Champions, World Record holders and Olympians look to secure their place at next world championships.

Fans will be hoping to catch notable athletes like Sweden Sjostrom Sarah, USA’s Michael Andrew, and South Africa’s Chad le clos in this year in Doha. No stranger to Doha, Le Clos has recorded dominant performances at Hamad Aquatic Centre at the FINA Swimming World Cup in October 2017, he took home gold in the 50m and 100m butterfly, his signature events, as well as the 100m freestyle. Should he confirm his place at the FINA Swimming World Cup in 2018, he will certainly be one to watch.

Three-time Olympian KatinkaHosszú is another name sports fans will be eager to see return to Doha for this year’s World Cup.The ‘Iron Lady’ who has a stronger FINA Swimming World Cup track record and last year at the Doha meet alone, she had four Gold Medals and one silver Medal.
