DFI is excited to announce its upcoming filmmaking challenge in partnership with Qatar Football Association.

Drawing inspiration from FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, they're inviting budding filmmakers to join them for a workshop to create their very own short film about the beautiful game.

This hands-on workshop will be a well-rounded introduction to the essential tools of filmmaking. Through practical and exciting exercises, students will learn all the essential techniques required to make their own short film, starting with the basic elements of narrative development and visual storytelling—to the film's actual production.

The initiative will be run by a dedicated team from the Doha Film Institute with expertise across a broad range of filmmaking. Students will work individually on their projects during the workshop and will be given the opportunity to film at famous landmarks throughout Doha. Completed films will then be screened during our World Cup celebrations at our popular drive-in cinema at Lusail.
