The US embassy is partnering with Texas A&M University at Qatar (Tamuq) to conduct a series of workshops, explaining the concepts of 3D printing, at the Qatar Scientific Club (QSC).
The series, “World of 3D Printing”, began yesterday and would continue until November 17.
The workshops will explore broad topics, including 3D technology, as well as technical information related to design and AutoCad objects such as lines, arcs and circles.
“The World of 3D Printing” is a US embassy-sponsored education programme in partnership with QSC.
Over the past few years, the embassy has worked closely with QSC to provide technical equipment and experts in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics education.
In continuation of the embassy’s partnership with QSC, Yasser al-Hamidi, a 3D printing expert and laboratory manager in the Mechanical Engineering Programme at Tamuq, is addressing the workshops.
The workshops are being held at the QSC from 6-8pm. Details are available on the QSC helpline (4469-6200) and on Twitter at @qscientific.
Updates from US Ambassador Dana Shell Smith and the embassy are available through Twitter @AmbDana and @USEmbassyQatar and Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/USEmbassyQatar/
