The second Bloomberg Doha Conference, to be jointly hosted by Qatar Financial Centre Authority (QFC Authority), will be held here on April 8 and 9. The event will be officially inaugurated by the Minister of Finance and Economy H E Yousuf Hussein Kamal.

The two-day conference, to be held at St Regis Hotel, will bring together CEOs, asset managers, investors and prominent regional decision makers to discuss the region’s fast-growing infrastructure and rising influence in investments around the world.

Over the two days, 16 panel discussions and one-on-one interviews will cover real estate development and investment activity; a close look at the post revolution economies of Libya, Tunisia and Egypt; Saudi’s growing economy; the growing appetite for Islamic Finance in Asia and Middle East; the emergence of women in prominent positions; and the new private wealth client.

Last year’s inaugural edition attracted over 300 delegates. Bloomberg LINK Head Robert Bierman said: “Qatar and the surrounding area are influenced by a unique set of factors such as rapidly rising private wealth and the need for a hub to access Middle Eastern markets. Doha has become a vital player in the global conversation about asset management and the movement of capital across the world.”

QFC Authority Chief Strategic Development Officer Yousuf Mohamed Al Jaida said: “It is a privilege again to welcome Bloomberg and its international community of asset management professionals to Doha. This year’s conference underlines the progress Qatar has made in establishing itself as a significant centre for asset management in the GCC and beyond.”
