Artist Encounters with Taha Belal

Taha Belal’s weeklong workshop explores identity through appropriation: borrowing, remixing and adapting images created by other people. Through discussions, participants will investigate the art of appropriation, from the past to contemporary practice. You will look at the work of artists such as Belal, Richard Prince, Cindy Sherman, Wade Guyton and Seth Price. Then you’ll create your own artworks using drawing, collage and digital methods.
