Qatar National Day Quiz Contest for Non Arab Expatriates

Thursday, 16/12/2010 at FANAR Auditorium

As a part of the activities of Qatar National Day Celebrations for the year 2010 that comes on 18th of this month, the Qatar National Day Celebrations Organizing Committee in association with Ministry of Interior represented by Public Relations Department and Qatar Islamic Cultural Centre (FANAR) is organizing a Quiz Contest for non Arabic speaking expatriates residing in Qatar at 5.30 pm on Thursday, 16/12/2010 evening at FANAR auditorium located in the ground floor of the Qatar Islamic Cultural Centre (FANAR), opposite to Souq Waqif.

The three hours program aims at enriching the awareness of expatriates about the history of Qatar and its founder in addition to imparting some general information about Qatar through quiz competition, considering it as their second home in which they spend a big apart of their life sharing the traditions and customs with Qatari citizens.

10 members 9 teams of expatriates from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Srilanka, Nigeria, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Bangladesh are competing in the Quiz contest.

The questions will comprise various subjects such as history of Qatar and its leaders from past to present, information on Ministry of Interior, and history of Qatar police and Qatar Islamic Cultural Centre (FANAR), in addition to general knowledge about Qatar. The organizing committee will honor the winners by granting a prize of QR 5000, QR 3000 and QR 2000 to first, second and third prize winners respectively.

The audience of the quiz program also will be given valuable prizes, which will be distributed through a raffle draw and answering some questions specified for the audience during the program.

The general public and the families are also welcome to the program and are requested to reach the Fanar auditorium before 5.30 pm in order to avoid the inconvenience of unavailability of seats as the seats are available on the basis of first come first serve.
