This flagship research conference builds upon nationwide efforts to advance Qatar's ambitious research agenda, and provides a unique platform to activate the multidisciplinary collaboration needed to tackle the most pressing national challenges in research.

Held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, ARC' 13 will gather international scientists, researchers, and subject matter experts; in addition to members of Qatar's research community, members of academia, industry, public and private organizations, and professional societies. ARC' 13 builds on the success of the QF Annual Research Forum, inaugurated in 2010, and will focus on innovative research within the pillars of Qatar National Research Strategy (QNRS), namely Energy and Environment, Computing and InformationTechnology, Health, and Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities.

Under the theme "Qatar's Cross-cutting Research Grand Challenges, "the two-day conference will include a series of presentations and panel discussions, where delegates will delve into crucial issues such as Qatar's cyber and water security; solar and renewable energy solutions; health management systems, as well as the preservation of its Arabian heritage and language.

High-powered debate sessions will be a main highlight of the conference, with leading experts exchanging their respective points of view on the best ways to address Qatar's grand research challenges. The debates are a new attraction this year, and will cover each of the four key QNRS pillars. Networking and exhibition opportunities will serve as outlets for further engagement amongst local and international delegates. Through these interactive features, ARC' 13 provides a unique platform for the interdisciplinary knowledge sharing and collaboration needed to develop holistic solutions to Qatar's most pressing challenges. ARC' 13 is Qatar Foundation Research and Development's signature event, helping position Qatar as a leading international center for research and development excellence and innovation. Program
