Vera Wang Charity Fashion show at The Pearl-Qatar
Doha, April 25th 2011: The Pearl-Qatar, (define TPQ) was the idyllic setting for the Vera Wang Charity Fashion Show, which was held in support of the Rumaillah Hospital on 23rd April 2011.The Pearl-Qatar now boasts the only international fully fledged Vera Wang boutique outside the United States.

The Fashion Show was organized to raise funds for The Occupation Therapy Department at Rumaillah Hosptital. Funds raised will go towards buying new equipment for disabled children which will provide them with the opportunity to live a relatively normal life. Equipment including wheelchairs, and educational material will further contribute to a comfortable learning experience.

The exclusive ladies fashion show showcased the Spring/Summer collection of Vera Wang’s ready-to-wear collection, that resonate with the designer’s signature layering, intricate draping and exquisite attention to detail. International celebrities such as, Sarah Jessica Parker, Ivanka Trump and Kate Hudson are just a few well-known names that have been synonymous with the famed New York based bridal-wear couturier, Vera Wang.

United Development Company’s Executive Vice President Fashion & Retail, Kirk Martin commented, “The Pearl-Qatar has always supported charitable causes, so it is wonderful that Vera Wang selected to promote international fashion and endorse such a benevolent cause on our Island”.

Over 120 ladies attended this sensational fashion show and demonstrated their support for this worthy charitable cause through ticket purchases. Proceeds from the sale of Vera Wang designs as well as ticket sales were presented to representatives of the Rumaillah hospital, after the show.
