This unique talk, given by the world's foremost expert on humanitarian technology, explores the rise of digital humanitarian response and describes how new technologies are radically reshaping the entire humanitarian space. He will be covering such topics as crowd sourcing, multitasking, big data, data science, open data – and how emerging technologies in these areas are reshaping response to crisis (floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, poverty, etc).
He recently spoke at the White House about his work, and works closely with aid organizations such as the UN Global Pulse, World Bank, AidData, the Philippines government, organizations in Haiti, Japan and many more.
