Info from Katara's website:

"For hundreds of years fishermen, pearl-divers, and traders from Africa to India relied on the dhow for their livelihood. Now, 1300 years later, we celebrate what has become one of the
most striking symbols of our heritage. Discover the story of the dhow yourself at Katara where scores of boats from across the region will converge along the beachfront.
Live the experience of working on one of these magnificent vessels through the words of their owners and their crew. Immerse yourself in the rich history through workshops, exhibitions, displays, and galleries. Take a piece of heritage home at the numerous souvenir shops.
