International Symposium On Drugs Affecting Lipid Metabolism
Date: 14-16 Mar , 2011
Venue: Ritz Carlton Hotel
For the first time since the inception of this conference in 1960, the Drugs Affecting Lipid Metabolism (DALM) symposium will take place in Doha, Qatar, instead of in the United States or Italy.
Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar and the Qatar Foundation are working in together to build biomedical research capacity in Qatar. The primary purpose of this effort is to address significant health challenges — obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease foremost among them — currently facing the nation and the region.
The purpose of this meeting is to update physicians, particularly those practicing in the Middle East, on recent research regarding the prevention and pharmacological treatment of diabetes, atherosclerotic vascular disease and related cardiometabolic disorders. Our target audience are clinicians and health care practitioners in the fields of cardiology, endocrinology, epidemiology, genetic medicine, geriatrics, internal medicine, lipidology, and pediatrics.
