As we approach the end of our second month back at work and school, Eid Al Adha is just round the corner right on time for a much needed week off. We’ve been hard at work scouring the deepest, darkest depths of the internet gathering you all the information you need to have an awesome holiday! Eid Al Adha is a religious holiday that spans three days in which an animal is sacrificed in accordance with Islamic teachings. Being that it is a time of celebration, loads of family oriented events are usually set up to ensure everyone makes the best of their holiday. Part of the Eid tradition is for older family members to give children money to spend during their vacation; this should explain any suspiciously cheeky smiles on kids’ faces during the next few days!

Much like they usually do whenever there’s a special occasion, Katara has awesome events lined up for Eid! They’ll have the usual brilliantly organized fireworks display running all through the three nights of Eid which is great for a night out with the family. They’ve also arranged for you to have a chance to Bungee Jump; unless you have an extra pair of shorts we wouldn’t recommend this to the faint hearted. Souq waqif is expected to receive a whopping 220,000 visitors over the holiday (information courtesy of thepeninsulaqatar.com) whom they’ll be entertaining with live performances from young Arab vocalists as well as a parade and Disney show. These are just a few examples of the brilliant events lined up for Eid.

The Great Big List of Eid Awesomeness:

Jump off something very high: Bungee Jump at Katara on the 27th-29th of October from 2PM – Midnight. This will set you back 350QR but we think the thrill is well worth it!

Watch colourful stuff explode: Fireworks at Katara (Katara Esplanade) on the 26th – 28th from 8:30PM – 8: 45PM. Entry is free for all.

People on stilts: There will be parade shows, circuses, and plays going on at Katara all through Eid from the 26th of October to the 1st of November. Please refer to the attached QTA package for more information.

Take the Kids out to Souq Waqif: As mentioned earlier; a parade, a disney show, and young singers Rana Marrar along with Halal Al Turk are all performances you can watch during Eid. Please refer to the QTA package for details on dates/times and prices.

Book a 'staycation' with tempting hotel offers: Almost every single one of Doha's top hotels have put together an Eid package for you to be able to have an alternative to staying in. There's rooms, food, beaches and..did we mention food?. Click here for to view the list of hotel offers compiled by QTA.

Let the dunes be bashed: Head out to Sealine and get bashing! There are loads of different things to rent out at Sealine like quad bikes, jet skis, and 'rhinos'. Please be careful though, it's dangerous out there!

Go Pearl-ing: The Pearl has organized loads of fun for kids this year with activities involving face painting to trampolines, enough said really. This will run on the 25th through 28th at 4PM-8PM.

Get some inspiration for your million Riyal idea at MIA: Head over to the museum of Islamic Art park to have a look at the "1001 Inventions" starting from the second day of Eid. Click here for more info.

The most obvious way to get rid of stress; SHOOT something. FEQ paintball have your paint pellets locked in and ready to fire. This could be a great way to vent your post-work stress and unwind. Prices start at 90QR; click here for more info.

Hit the malls: The biggest malls in Qatar are going all out this Eid putting on a huge variety of performances. You can refer to the attached QTA document for details on Landmark, Hyatt Plaza, Lagoona, The Gate, and The Mall's plans for Eid. Happy shopping!

Get your Nickelodeon on: Dora the Explorer will be brought to life in a live play here in Qatar! Show dates run from the 25th (today) through the 27th of October. Click here to buy tickets.
