Global Entrepreneurship Week, the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators, will be held in Qatar this year from the 17th- 21st of November 2013 at Renaissance Doha City Center Hotel and VCUQatar.

Enterprise Qatar, Platinum sponsor and Qatar Shell, Gold sponsor of GEW Qatar joined their efforts with various entities in Qatar including: Silatech - Country Host partner, Qatar Science &Technology Park (QSTP) – Technology Innovation sponsor, Qatar Development Bank (QDcool smiley to bring this awaited event for the second year to Doha.
The initiative started in 2008, launched by former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Carl Schramm, the president and CEO of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. Since then, it has grown to 115 countries - with nearly 24,000 partner organizations planning more than 37,000 activities that directly engage more than 7 million people.
After the great success of GEW Qatar 2012, the event will bring together this year government and diplomatic officials, business executives, society leaders and potential young entrepreneurs. GEW supports people in exploring their potential as entrepreneurs and innovators. It helps releasing ideas and doing all the efforts to bring them to life. The topics discussed last year were divided into four mainstreams:
Youth and social entrepreneurship
Individual leadership and entrepreneurship
Policy, financial and legal
Creative, design and technology
To kick-off the event this year a VIP Gala dinner will take place on Sunday, 17th of November. The opening dinner will host government entities, officials and social representatives.
As scheduled, the sessions and discussions starting from Monday 18th of November will run from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm over four consecutive days.
During this event, professional speakers and experts from different backgrounds will share their expertise with the participants and guide them through the process of starting and managing a successful business. Moreover, mentors at the panel discussions and workshops will assist youth and entrepreneurs to unleash their ideas and achieve their goals.
In addition to that, finals of the Enterprise Challenge Qatar, which Qatar Shell and Bedaya Center have launched to encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship amongst young people, will also be part of this event.
GEW is more than just an awareness campaign supported by world leaders and celebrity entrepreneurs. It is about thinking big and making your mark on the world - doing good while doing well at the same time.
