“Global Translation Flows” is the fifth in a series of annual conferences that aim to create a Gulf-based platform for discussing issues related to translation. It will be held from April 13 to April 15, 2014 at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC), Qatar. The conference features keynote addresses, panels, workshops, and author conversations. Led by experienced professionals and educators, workshops include specializations
in media, and literary translation, and conference interpreting. This will offer translators and those interested in pursuing a career in translation an opportunity to understand and experience various aspects of the craft – some in relation to Arabic/English and English/Arabic translation and others from less language-specific perspectives. The conference also includes three days of academic panels with notable speakers, hailing from different parts of the world. The aim of “Global Translation Flows” is to re-center, reconnect, and expand the field of translation beyond its traditional borders.
