Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar (SFS-Q) will open its doors to prospective employers from across the Gulf and beyond at the fifth annual Georgetown Career Fair from 11am to 5pm on March 19.
The event will provide a forum for prominent organisations from Doha and the region to meet directly with the Georgetown student and graduate population in order to fulfil current and future recruitment needs.
The fair will be held at Georgetown Building in Qatar Foundation’s Education City and is expected to attract over 30 participating organisations. The event will kick off with a “recognition and networking lunch” where participants will be able to meet informally with students in their senior year, as well as the Georgetown faculty, staff and fellow corporate representatives.
Immediately after the lunch, the Career Fair will be open to all current students and alumni. “We are pleased with the enthusiastic response till date, both from organisations that already employ our graduates and others who are eager to tap into the highly-qualified and skilled workforce found within our student and alumni populations,” said Renée Gallant, SFS-Q outreach and corporate engagement manager.
Among the confirmed participants are Google, Hill+Knowlton Strategies, Qanect Communications, Qatar Airways, Qatar Foundation, Qatar Museums Authority, QNB, Standard Chartered, Qatar Shell, Vodafone Qatar and others, including government ministries.
In addition to securing professional opportunities for students, the university will use the event to explore new and innovative means to strengthen corporate partnership and engagement with the external community.
The deadline for registration is March 7.
