Bani Yafie’ Tribe to Commemorate National Day

Celebrations will bring together local dignitaries and children
December 16, 2010; Doha, Qatar: Qatar's Bani Yafie’ tribe today announced a series of unique celebrations and activities that will be held during Qatar National Day on Saturday, December 18th. The Bani Yafie’ tribe annual celebrations, which will draw local dignitaries, young children and loyal tribe members, are held each year on Al Rayyan Road on the occasion of National Day.

On a special tour of the site in advance of Saturday's events, Brigadier Mohammed Saif Al-Aliah Shanzour said: "Qatar National Day is truly an auspicious occasion and it is important that we take the time to celebrate with our families, fellow tribesmen and friends. It is clear that the organizers have worked tirelessly to prepare for this event and I am certain that this year's celebrations will be even bigger than last year. Our organizing committee, media committee and special committee—all made up of our young people, should be congratulated."
It is important that our young people understand our history and culture, and National Day is a great opportunity for them to both celebrate our past and look to the future," he added.
The Bani Yafie tribe National Day celebrations this year will include poetry readings, Arda dances, singing, Qatari food and sweets.

"On behalf of the people of the Bani Yafie’ tribe, we'd like to congratulate H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani, The Emir, and H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Heir apparent on Qatar’s National Day. We would alos like to extend our gratitude for their vision and leadership for Qatar. Their love and devotion for Qatar is a great part of what we celebrate today," he concluded.
