Doha will play host to the first ever American Petroleum Institute (API) conference to be held in the Middle East.

API is the only trade association that represents all aspects of the oil and natural gas industry -- from producers, refiners, suppliers, pipeline operators and marine transporters, as well as service and supply companies that support all segments of the industry. API produces global industry standards and provides a means to determine which individuals and companies have the technical ability to comply with those standards.

This unique industry event is designed to relay valuable information to industry professionals and generate discussion related to current and emerging industry best practices for inspection, testing, industry standards and individual and product certifications, among other areas of interest.

The exhibition provides local organizations the ability to display their goods and services to a very qualified audience. Participation in the Doha conference gives attendees unparalleled networking opportunities with local industry professionals and API representatives.

Confirmed speakers include:

* John Modine, director of global industries services at API
* Chip Evans, manager of global services at API
