30th Anniversary of the GCC: Achievements and Prospects

Qatar University will be marking the 30th anniversary of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) by holding a two-day conference to examine its past achievements, present challenges and future possibilities.

Since its inception in 1981, the GCC has played a central role in the forging of many geopolitical and economic allegiances between Qatar, Saudi Arabic, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman. The conference will further address the potential role of civil societies within GCC communities, and its political and economic security in the context of changing global realities.

The conference will take place in the Ibn Khaldoon Hall on November 22 and in the Conference Hall of the Administration Building on November 23. Sessions begins at 8:30 am and ends at 4:30 pm on both days.
