Event Details:

Several pensioners leave the familiar comforts of England for Jaipur, India, intending to bask in the wonders of exotic retirement at a luxurious resort for the elderly and the beautiful, run by a young Indian entrepreneur. Their amusing difficulties with adjusting to their new surroundings – which they quickly discover are not exactly as advertised – gives way to a heartwarming study of the joy and distress that come with aging. One of the most charming films of recent memory, ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’ is driven by an ensemble cast of the finest of British performers – among them Maggie Smith, Judi Dench, Tom Wilkinson and Bill Nighy.

Director John Madden is best known for his ‘Shakespeare in Love’ (1998), which won the Academy Award® for Best Picture, and for which he was nominated for the Oscar for Best Director. Other films include ‘Mrs. Brown’ (1997), starring Judi Dench as Queen Victoria; ‘Captain Corelli’s Mandolin’ (2001); ‘Proof’ (2005), for which Gwyneth Paltrow was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress; and ‘The Debt’
