DFI Brazil Cinema Showcase
March Screening
Filmmaker Beadie Finzi follows two teenage dancers from the favelas of Rio de Janeiro as they fight to take control of their own destinies by rising through the ranks of an international ballet competition. If they succeed, it could mean the opportunity to start a new life for their families in a place where there are greater options for the future, and less chance of being drawn into the dangerous world of gangs and drugs.
