The Mayball dine and dance event of Doha Goans Sports Club will be held today at Ramada plaza from 8pm onwards.
A live performance by the popular Indian band Black Slades, which arrived in Doha yesterday, is among the highlights of the event.
The main attraction of the evening will be the crowning of the Mayball Queen by chief guest, Miss India 2004 and current Bollywood star, Tanushree Dutta.
Fabulous prizes are on offer for the beauty pageant contestants.
There are spot prizes for the audience, and contests and fun games for children and adults.
An English teacher by professio
n and a compere by passion, Nelwyn Fernandes will set the tone at the Mayball.
The proceeds from the event are to be donated for a school for blind children in India, the organisers said.
“Doha Goans Sports Club is a non-profitable association, and the main aim is to reach out to the under-privileged,” president Ambrosio Dias said.
