More info
Loy Krathong is a festival celebrated annually throughout Thailand and certain parts of Laos and Burma.
"Loi" means "to float" and a "krathong" is traditionally made from a section of banana tree trunk. During the night of the full moon, Thais will float their krathong on a river, canal or a pond lake. The festival is believed to originate in an ancient practice of paying respect to the spirit of the waters.
This year, InterContinental Doha in collaboration with The Royal Thai Embassy will celebrate this Festival of Lights at Fish Market beachfront.
Witness an evening of dazzling Thai cultural dances and a parade of fashion showcasing elaborate and authentic Thai costumes. Indulge in a sumptuous dinner buffet featuring the culinary perfections of a phalanx of Thai Chefs.
Dinners starts from 7:00pm - 11pm at QR 220 per person including soft beverages, and a chance to win a round-trip ticket for Two to Bangkok courtesy of Qatar Airways.
After the dinner, guests will have the chance to float their krathongs on the sea.
