World-renowned Lebanese singers Nancy Ajram and Fares Karam are to perform at the Layali Eid 2009 concert on November 27 at the Marriott Hotel as part of the Eid Al Adha celebrations.
Organised by Advent Worldwide in association with GEM Advertising, the event has a warm up performance by DJ Dory, popularly known for being the official DJ of Radio Strike.

Ajram, a multi-platinum Lebanese singer and Goodwill Ambassador for Unicef in the Middle East and North Africa, won the 2008 World Music Award (WMA) for World’s Best-Selling Middle Eastern Artist, the youngest Arab WMA winner to date.

She has released seven studio albums to date, and was ranked the third best selling female artist in Lebanese history in 2007, having sold more than 30mn records that year. Breaking conventional barriers, Ajram became the first and only female sponsor and spokesperson of Coca-Cola in the Middle East and Arab world.

She was described on the Oprah Winfrey Show as one of the most influential personalities of the Middle East. The talented singer has won the Murex D’, Award for the Best Female Lebanese Singer of the year, Beirut, in 2003, 2005 and 2007.
She won the Golden Lion Award Egypt in 2003, and was also rated the Best Arabic Star of the year 2007 by the Kol el Arab Survey.

Karam, popular for El-Tanoura, has many hit singles to his credit. He won the Golden Prize and a high-level evaluation prize in the field of Lebanese Traditional Song from the ‘Studio El Fan’ Arts Studio.

He has conducted and participated in a large number of concerts and live shows across the US, Canada, Venezuela, Australia and Europe.

Karam has struck a chord with people for his unique musical style, reminiscent to the most popular Arab folk dance routine – Dabke.

A line dance, Dabke is widely performed at weddings and joyous occasions, which has made his music very popular in the Middle East.
