Thousands of people visited Katara this month, attending diverse events hosted at its various venues.

The key events included Artist Talk and Workshop by Lisa Milroy; the exhibition, Encounter: The Royal Academy in the Middle East; the opening of the Magnum 65 exhibition; and a Magida Al Roumi concert.

Dr Khalid Al Sulaiti (pictured), General Manager, said: “It has been a pleasure to see so many people from various cultures and backgrounds come together at Katara. We remain committed to showcasing the best of Qatar and the world and I would personally like to thank everyone for their continuous support as we continue delivering on our promise, bringing Qatar a rich calendar of events while also updating you with what’s new and exciting at Katara.”

Next week will see yet another exciting event as Katara presents the second Artist Talk and Residency Programme by Encounter: The Royal Academy in the Middle East, artist, Richard Deacon. The Artist Talk, which begins on Monday at 6pm at Katara Building 15, will be open to the public, while the Residency Programme will commence on Tuesday and run until February 9 in Katara Art Studios, Building 19. The Artist Talk will comprise a conversation session between artists featured in Encounter: The Royal Academy in the Middle East, Richard Deacon and Qatari Artists Faraj Daham and Mubarak Al Malik, as well as Katara’s Curator, Sa’id Costa. Other events in the upcoming weeks include the celebration of National Sport Day.
