The Jazz is Back in Town!
Legend of Jazz, Dr Gabbs and his Band will perform live at the Spice Market, in the W Hotel Doha, every day, until the end of October.
A “Jazz Evening" dedicated to great classics of Boogie Woogie, Swing, Blues, and Jazz. Works may include peices by Louis Armstrong, Erroll Garner, Ray Charles, Gershwin, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Glenn Miller, Thelonious Monk, Cole Porter, Fats Waller, as well as his own compositions from Doctor Gabs new CD “Tropical Boogie". A repertoire full of lyricism, virtuosity, warmth, and sensibility.
Dr Gabbs was described by the New York Press as a Master of swing, jazz and boogie woogie, pianist of genius and singer.
Doctor Gabs is a jazzman who has studiously mastered all the styles up through be-bop. Yes, Gabs is an extraordinary technician who knows every trick that his instrument permits, showing off dazzling runs, arpeggios and intricate layering of chords,flourishes brought forth with both a strong right and a thundering and very fast left hand.
