The 12-day Eid Al Adha Festival will kick off on October 15, Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) announced yesterday.

The festival is set to feature first-of-its-kind international shows, traditional dances and musical performances catering to all ages.

To encourage more visitors during Eid Al Adha, QTA is offering a range of travel and hospitality packages combining transport and activity options to make the festival more accessible.

QTA has partnered with several tourist and cultural organisations as well as shopping centres and entertainment facilities in Qatar in developing the programmes.

Continuing on the success of the Eid Al Fitr Festival, partners again include the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage; the Museum of Islamic Art; the Pearl Qatar; Katara; the Qatar Shooting and Archery Association; Sawt Al Rayan; the Imam Muhammed bin Abdul Wahhab mosque; Aquapark Qatar; Qatar Air Sports Committee; Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani Museum; Al Dosari Zoo; and the Game Reserve.

“Qatar has many attractions that make it a preferred family destination for tourists in the region. We look forward to showcasing these assets during the Eid Al Adha Festival, which coincides with this important religious occasion. We have organised a myriad of activities which will provide entertainment for all ages and give visitors a chance to enjoy many exciting events and create memories with their loved ones,” said Rashed Al Qurese, Marketing and Promotions Director, QTA.

Commenting on the organisation of the festival with key partners, he said: “We received strong support from public and private organisations in the tourism and hospitality sector in Qatar.

“Our common goal is to make the festival a special occasion that reflects the development of the tourism sector in Qatar. We thank all those who helped in the preparations for the festival and we promise visitors an exceptional experience.”

QTA has completed preparations for the launch of the festival, including the reception of visitors at Doha International Airport and Abu Samra border crossing. Upon entry into Qatar, visitors will receive details of programmes for the festival, and other promotional materials on tourist attractions and entertainment programmes in the country.
