In a Tweet by @carnivalalkhor, it announced the decision of closure of the carnival to ensure the health and safety of all.

In solidarity with community responsibility#AlkhorCarnival management has decided to close the carnival early to ensure the health and safety of all.

On an Instagram story feed by @carnivalalkhor, it says that:

"Due to the large area of AlKhor Carnival, the sterilization process will continue and the clousre will be extended further notice for the sake of your safety and everyone's safety"

The organisers of Al Khor Carnival put up an Instagram post saying:

"The opening has been postponed. Due to the unexpected weather conditions and for your safety, the opening will be on Saturday 23rd January 2021."
