In this lecture, Zakaria Al Hagar, a senior librarian at Lusail University, will discuss the interrelationship between libraries, society, and sports, and the importance of sports libraries.

This lecture will discuss the following:

  • Global and local sports libraries like Singapore Sports Library, Olympic Academy Library - Qatar, and Olympic and Sports Museum Library - Qatar
  • How do I practice sports activities in a library that is not specialized in sports, like school libraries and public libraries?
  • FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™: An opportunity to engage in community programs that advocate sports
  • Models of activities: The exhibition of children's sports items
  • Lending sports materials such as chess, carrom, and electronic games
  • Encouraging the reading of sports books within reading clubs
  • Questions and discussion
