The National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) in collaboration with ExxonMobil Research Qatar (EMRQ) presents an exhibition on dugongs. Dugongs are large marine mammals that are native to Qatar. In fact, in Qatar, scientists have spotted the largest dugong gatherings! The dugong is the only herbivorous marine mammal, and they depend on coastal seagrass beds for food and shelter. This exhibition introduces dugongs and their habitat through fun facts and interactive exhibits. Visitors can learn about the important work of scientists studying dugongs in Qatar and how they can protect them and their environment through both science and everyday actions.
