Background on Terry Fox Run:
The Terry Fox Run is an annual marathon held to help raise funds and awareness for finding a cure for cancer. The annual fund raising event, started since Terry Fox , a young Canadian man was suffering from bone cancer, initiated in 1980. Although, he got his left leg amputated, Terry was determined to run across Canada to generate awareness and raise funds for Cancer research. Mr. Sharp has made a personal pledge to the Terry Fox run for cancer research until the disease is beaten. Since its inaugural, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts followed through on its pledge to organize an annual run in Terry’s name and works closely with the Canadian Cancer Society to plan the Marathon of Hope.
