An exhibition will be held here next week to showcase the Omani industrial products and promote business.
The first of its kind of expo to be held in Qatar will be organised by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Doha Exhibition Centre fromNovember 17 to 20
. The event will also coincide with Oman’s National Day on November 18.
‘Oman Products Exhibition’ will be a good opportunity to familiarise businessmen and investors with advantages of Omani products and their abilities to meet needs of the local and regional markets, according to senior Omani officials.
“Omani products has huge demand in the Qatari market among locals and expatriates,” said Mohamed Nasser Al Wahaibi, Oman’s Ambassador to Qatar addressing a press conference held at the embassy yesterday.
The event is to be attended by Oman’s Minister of Economy and Commerce.
Vice chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ayman Abdullah Hamed Al Hasani said there is great potential for growth in trade exchange between Qatar and Oman and non-petroleum exports to Oman amounted to QR610bn in 2012 with a 33 percent increase as compared to 2011.
Around 80 exhibitors are scheduled to showcase their products including handy craft products, building materials, food and pharmaceutical items- also Oman’s ministry of tourism will have a stand at the exhibition.
Omani Halwa, which is very popular and remains a symbol of hospitality, will be made at the exhibition venue to attract visitors.
